Bookcase Styling!

I finally got some new bookcases for my office and quickly realized I had no idea how to decorate them!  So to Pinterest I went to get some inspiration!  Here are my favorites:

I love the gold frames, blue vases and old magazines!  I learned several things after doing some research and trying to come up with ideas.  One trick is to turn books the other way if you don't have several of the same color.  This way they match!  Use old magazines or take the book cover off old books.  They are generally a nicer color that the cover anyway!

Stacking books at different heights and adding small nicknacks, frames, or collectibles to add texture & layers.

This would be nice for the corner of a bedroom or office!



Another trick is to either paint the back of the bookcase or cover it with fabric.  I love this look!

She turned the books backwards in this one and added lots of textures & layers! Love it!

You can also cover books with matching wrapping paper or matching fabrics!





this one has a fabric backing!  I love the greek key print!

Pioneer Woman's Beef with Snow Peas

  Ingredients 1-½ pound Flank Steak (sliced thin against the grain) ½ cups Soy Sauce 3 Tablespoons Sherry 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon   Minced Fresh Ginger 8 ounces Fresh Snow Peas 5 chopped Scallions 3 Tablespoons Peanut Oil Crushed Red Pepper 4 cups cooked Jasmine Rice Directions Mix together soy sauce, sherry, brown sugar, cornstarch, and ginger. Pour half the liquid over the sliced meat in a bowl and toss. Reserve the other half of the liquid. Heat oil in a heavy skillet or wok over high heat. Add snow peas and stir fry for one minute. Remove to a plate. Allow pan to get hot again. Add half the meat mixture and add half the scallions. Sear meat on both sides until brown. Remove to a clean plate. Repeat with remaining meat, allowing pan to get very hot again first. After all the meat is cooked, add the plateful of meat, the remaining marinade, and the snow peas.
