Vintage Chalkboard Love!

Image
I have a new fascination with old vintage chalkboards.  And, it turns out, they are super easy to make yourself!  All you need is an old framed picture or canvas, some spray paint and some chalkboard paint.  I got my frame for $10 at the local thrift store, spray painted the frame gold and painted the canvas with chalkboard paint.  Super easy!  I also had some framed oil paintings that were left to us from our great aunt.  They were nice oil paintings, just not really my style.  I decided to turn them into chalkboards too!  I figured Aunt Dorothy would rather me use her frames that let them sit in the garage gathering dust.  Right? Here are some other fabulous chalkboards from Pinterest !

DIY Chalkboard Tutorial!

I loved this quote from Julia Child. She is my favorite chef of all time! So I decided to make a chalkboard frame for my kitchen I purchased this painting at a thrift store for $9.00 I spray painted the frame with gold spraypaint and painted over the painting with this chalkboard paint! Printed out the quote from my printer I colored chalk on the back of the paper and taped it to the chalkboard, then traced the letters with a ballpoint pen. The letters show up very light, then just fill them in with chalk! I just love how it turned out!!!! Linking up with these lovelies!   Craft-O-Maniac     C.R.A.F.T. The Gunny Sack Celebrations At Home
